Lisa spent almost 20 years in education as a teacher and leader, serving children and families across the Tees Valley.
Having assessed written work and managed portfolio assessment and moderation herself, she understands the workload involved and the importance of clear, consistent professional judgements.
She also knows first-hand the realities of workload and burnout - her own experience of leaving the profession after life-threatening illness fuels her mission to change it.
Her passion is simple: to create a sustainable future for teachers, deliver consistency for leaders and unlock life chances for every young person.
Sam has built a career spanning both academia and business.
A PhD-qualified engineer, she spent more than five years teaching foundation-level physics at an international study centre affiliated with Durham University, and supported colleagues as an e-learning champion.
She went on to found her own process optimisation business, developing systems to cut complexity and improve performance - work that gave her a practical understanding of how thoughtful technology can streamline established workflows without compromising rigour.
At Assessable, Sam acts as the bridge between teaching practice and technical development, turning classroom expertise into practical tools that make life easier for teachers, improve clarity for learners and give leaders greater confidence in assessment consistency.
